Cab installer to enable BT DUN support in the Motorola Q

I created a CAB file that automatically puts the registry keys in place necessary to enable Bluetooth DUN support on the Motorola Q. Thanks to StolenPhone from HowardForums for documenting the necessary reg keys to make this work.

  1. Install the CAB file
  2. Reboot your Q
  3. Dial ##342587 and hit Send
  4. Set the dialup option to Enabled and hit Exit
  5. Do a happy dance :)

After you go through this process, you should be able to pair your phone to your laptop again and it should automatically install a "Standard Modem over Bluetooth". Just create a Dial-up connection using this modem with a phone number of #777. No username or password is necessary.

Store mail on your MiniSD card with the Motorola Q

I created a cab file that sets the reg keys that cause the Motorola Q to store email and attachments on your storage card. You are probably better off running this before you even start to setup mail on your device, so it doesn't leave the old stuff behind still taking up space. Personally I run this after doing a factory reset so I'm starting as fresh as possible.

I can't vouch for the performance of your email after running this file if you are using a slow MiniSD card. Don't cheap out on this part because you'll feel it later. I'm using an ATP 2GB 150x card that I got from Fry's. Speed counts here folks

You can download the CAB file from here

While you're at it, you can also store your IE temp files on your storage card using this Cab file I got from MoDaCo
